Mario Gonzalez,
M.D.
Dr. Gonzalez was born and raised in rural Mexico.
However, he has completed most of his education in
the United States. Dr. Gonzalez has a BS from the
University of Illinois at Chicago, and his Doctorate
Degree from St. Christopher’s College of Medicine.
Presently he is studying for a Masters in Public
Health at New Mexico State University with an
emphasis on Border Health Issues. His ultimate
professional goal is to influence or decide National
Public Health Care Policies with the aim in ending
disparities in health care. |

Clyde Miller, M.D.
Dr. Miller was born
and raised in Hyde Park New York and worked as a
cabinetmaker and owned his own construction company
before entering medical school in 1999. He graduated
from the, Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in
December of 2002, and then spent a year training at
Westchester Medical Center as part of the Fifth
Pathway Program at New York Medical Center. Clyde
enjoys the diverse challenges of Family Medicine and
hopes to find work in a small, rural clinic in the
Southwest upon graduation. When not working Clyde
enjoys spending time with his wife and toddler son.

Ricardo Rubio,
M.D.
Dr. Rubio is an El Paso native. He likes to travel.
Enjoys playing basketball, football, skiing,
mountain biking and rock climbing (before he started
residency). He would like to establish his practice
in Las Cruces or El Paso after residency. |

Rosario
Soriano-Turque, M.D.
Having completed medical school, Dr. Soriano-Turque
is working toward a Masters in Public Health at New
Mexico State University. She is fluent in Spanish
and has completed internships in both medicine and
social service. |

Tom Williams,
M.D.
Dr. Williams was born in San Diego, California and attended the
University of
California San Diego for his
undergraduate studies and attended Universidad
Autonoma de Guadalajara for medical school. Dr.
Williams then completed the Fifth Pathway program at
New York Medical College. Dr. Williams was
attracted to Southern New Mexico Family Medicine
Residency Program because of his desire to serve the
underserved Spanish speaking community. Dr.
Williams’ outside interests include his family,
biking, water sports and snow skiing. |

Abhishek Ahuja,
M.D.
Dr. Ahuja was born in Pune, India and attended
medical school at Bangalore Medical College, India.
He came to the United States in 2003 to pursue a
Masters in Public Health at University of
Massachusetts, Amherst. He likes Family Medicine
because of its diverse nature and the people
interaction. He is an outdoor kind of person. He
loves to go hiking, biking and swimming. He loves
movies and music. His dream is to buy a motorbike
someday. He enjoys the desert landscape of New
Mexico. He moved here to be close to family and to
be able to work with the community. He is an
easy-going kind of person and will do anything to
get a laugh out of you! If you are special enough,
he might let you call me Abu!! |

Cesar Lirio, M.D.
Dr. Lirio was born in the Philippines and has his
Medical Degree from the University Santo Tomas
Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. His family migrated
to the United States in 2001. His wife is a
practicing pediatrician in Las Cruces and he intends
to practice here upon graduation from the program.
Dr. Lirio reports that he has always enjoyed the
company of his family, for which he chose to stay in
Las Cruces. The quietness and smallness of Las
Cruces makes it very conducive to family life.
Traveling has always been on the top of his list for
he and his family. They have been trying to go to as
many vacation spots as they can while they are
young. After graduation from residency, he is
looking forward to practicing family medicine in the
area, which he and his family have learned to call
home. |

Mirta
Rodriguez, M.D.
Dr. Rodriguez was born in Puerto Rico. She received
her BS in Biology from the University of Puerto
Rico. She then went to medical school (Univ.
Autonoma Guadalajara). She completed one year of 5th
Pathway training in Mt. Vernon Hospital in New York.
Dr. Rodriguez because interested in family medicine
because of the interdisciplinary nature of the
field. Outside of work Dr. Rodriguez enjoys
listening to music and working on home improvement
projects. |

Patrick ,
Felicitas
M.D.
Medical School: Manila Central University
After completing a 5 year surgery residency in the
Philippines, Dr. Felicitas did a year of private
practice and volunteer work. He then moved to the
U.S. with his wife who is an I.C.U. nurse and his
daughter. He chose this program because it is
unopposed and he has friends in the community. He
speaks Togalog and is learning Spanish. When bored,
Dr. Felicitas likes to get out his digital camera
and take advantage of the local sights.

Undergraduate: U.C.L.A., B.S. Biology
Medical School: Semmelweis University
Dr. Linszky speaks Japanese and Hungarian fluently
and can get by in Russian and German. His hobbies
include literature, music, ballroom and Latin
dancing.

Undergraduate: SMU in Dallas Medical School:
American University of the Caribbean
After graduation from medical school, Dr. Huq did a
year of clinical research at Yale University. His
hobbies include traveling, collecting books,
listening to music, and watching the Discovery
channel. His wife Shipu is enrolled in New Mexico
State University. His goal is to become fluent in
Spanish and work in the surrounding community. |

Tatiana,
Antoci M.D.
Medical School: State Medical and Pharmacy
University
Dr. Antoci grew up and practiced medicine in Eastern
Europe. Her international background and
multicultural experience has taught her about
perseverance, freedom and the joy of life. The
multicultural mix of New Mexico has allowed further
develop an open minded understanding people,
different family structures and local tradition. Dr.
Antoci is fascinated by and enjoys New Mexico’s folk
culture, wild life and hiking opportunities.
Dr. Antoci’s has extensive experience in medicine,
obstetrics and gynecology and is looking forward to
a vaster perspective of primary care with more
patient interaction in the Southern New Mexico
Family Residency Program. Dr. Antoci’s husband is a
local orthopaedic surgeon and her son is completing
an MD/PhD program in Philadelphia.

Bustamante M.D.
Undergraduate: Cal Poly Pomona, CA
Medical School: Univ. Auto de Guadalajara,
Guadalajara, Mexico
Dr. Bustamante received a degree in Biological
Sciences from Cal Poly and worked as an elementary
school teacher for about 4 years in Southern
California. She left teaching to pursue her dream to
become a doctor. After attending UAG she completed a
pre-internship year at New York Medical College. Dr.
Bustamante enjoys nature and outdoor activities. She
makes a point of running a marathon in every city
she lives in. She loves listening to world music and
considers herself a Jazz fanatic. |

Dr. Smith moved here from Seattle with his wife
Sharon, son Levi, two cats, and “too much
furniture.” He feels he is “starting a new life”
here and is very excited at the prospect. |
