She has published and presented her findings in these areas at several national conferences. Dr. Summers uses her combined skills as a nurse therapist and a family nurse practitioner to promote a holistic view of patient care. Her interest in providing comprehensive health care for adolescents has led to the procurement of funding and the development of two programs, a student health care center at a local high school and a dedicated adolescent clinic at a family medicine office.  For the past nine years she has been the Behavioral Science Faculty offering her the opportunity not only to practice comprehensive health care but also to teach and develop curricula that incorporates psychosocial assessment and treatment in primary care practice for all age groups.
