Linda
Summers, DSN, FNP
Linda Summers has a
Doctorate of Science in Nursing from the University
of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Her
doctoral work focused on adolescent and young adult
health. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in
Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and a Family
Nurse Practitioner. She has a Masters Degree in
Counseling and Educational Psychology from New
Mexico State University and a Masters Degree in
Nursing from the University of New Mexico. She is
originally from New York and her interest in
adolescent health care stems from her own experience
as a Puerto Rican growing up in the South Bronx. Her
research interests include patient/provider
communication and adolescent disclosure of health
concerns to health care providers. She has published
and presented her findings in these areas at several
national conferences. Dr. Summers uses her combined
skills as a nurse therapist and a family nurse
practitioner to promote a holistic view of patient
care. Her interest in providing comprehensive health
care for adolescents has led to the procurement of
funding and the development of two programs, a
student health care center at a local high school
and a dedicated adolescent clinic at a family
medicine office. For the past nine years she has
been the Behavioral Science Faculty offering her the
opportunity not only to practice comprehensive
health care but also to teach and develop curricula
that incorporates psychosocial assessment and
treatment in primary care practice for all age
groups. Her present interests include traveling,
white water rafting and despite living in a desert
community, she is an avid sailor. |

Patrick Leung, PharmD
Patrick Leung,
Pharm.D, is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at
Memorial Medical Center and a faculty at Southern
New Mexico Family Medicine
Residency. He is also a pharmacist clinician at
Memorial Medical Center Anticoagulation Management
Service. Dr. Leung is a Board Certified
Pharmacotherapy Specialist. He received his
Bachelor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees
from Washington State University. He has been a
practicing pharmacist in many settings that allow
him to gain extensive experience in various aspects
of pharmacy. Before he moved to Las Cruces, he was
an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at
Washington State University and Clinical Pharmacy
Specialist at Providence Yakima Medical Center.
His areas of interest are infectious diseases,
cardiovascular diseases, anticoagulation, and
diabetes. |

Fresquez
Rebecca was born and
raised in Indiana and a recent transplant to New
Mexico. She is currently attending New Mexico State
University working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in
Human and Community Service.
Rebecca has
experience in both medical and legal settings.
Medical office management, and sole proprietor
business. In her spare time, (whenever that might
be) she enjoys sewing, reading, baking, and her pets
and grandpets. |
